Panthers FC’s Bernard Don Bortey is targeting a place in Ghana’s 2014 World Cup squad.
The former Hearts of Oak kingpin believes his exploits at the Equatorial Guinea side will catch the eye of Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah.
“I am a footballer and I will want to play for Ghana again when the opportunity comes,” Bortey was quoted by Allsports.com.gh. “I have targeted Brazil and if the chance and my country call me I will grab that chance with my all, because I played with most of the guys who are with the team now.”
He added: “I am not finished yet. I was in Ghana playing for Aduana Stars, but due to some problems I decided to move on. Fortunately, I got a club Panthers FC in Equatorial Guinea I’m their darling boy and it’s not by any chance, is because am playing week and week out and am doing well.”
“I have played almost every week since I moved from Ghana and my performance has caught the eyes of many of the clubs who are even chasing me for my services.”
Bortey has under his belt 27 caps for Ghana.
