Hearts play Equatorial Guinea

League title holders, Accra Hearts of Oak, will take on the national side of Equatorial Guinea in an international friendly encounter at the Accra Stadium on Friday.

The visitors are currently touring the country in a bid to shape up for up-coming assignment. The Ghanaian champions presently revelling in their sixth successive league title, are in an all-conquering form, dispatching virtually every opposition with cheeky ease, and will be seeking to send their opponents the same way.

Recently, when they toured Libya for the four-team Ramadan Cup, they came second only to Libyan champions Al Ittihad who enjoyed the magnanimity to subdue the Ghanaians.

But the Phobians say the remain unperturbed in the face of frustration and will visit even harsher pain on all who cross their path. Having already given word about their readiness to defend the upcoming ‘GHALCA Top Four’ cup, Hearts say the game against Equatorial Guinea is only one of several outlined to shape the team ahead of major competitions next year.

According to the Phobians crack stars like Charles Taylor, Bernard Don Bortey, Wisdom Abbey, Edmund Copson, Kwabena Boafo, Dan Oppong, Sammy Adjei and Adjah Tetteh, among others, will feature in Friday’s encounter with the Guineans.
