Dolphins FC replace Enyimba for Top-4 tourney

Dolphins FC have stepped in for Enyimba FC to play in next week’s top-team charity tournament to be staged in Kumasi, organizers have announced.

The tournament will be played at the Baba Yara Stadium from 31January to 2nd February to raise money for the Cancer Research Institute in Ghana.

Enyimba had agreed to participate in the charity match but withdrew due to fixture congestion.

Another Nigerian Premier League side Enugu Rangers has confirmed their participation.

They will be joined by Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak.

“Enyimba cannot come because around the time for the charity top four, they will also be playing in another top four in Nigeria,” General Manager of organizers Crystal Touch Ltd Charles Osei told Metro FM, Kumasi.

“But we have now settled on Dolphins and they have agreed in principles to participate in the tournament.”

Each club will be paid an appearance fee of US$ 20,000 and the winner of the tournament will take home US$ 5,000.

The runners-up will pocket US$ 3,000.
