Quansah hat-trick: KFC Germinal Beerschot Antwerpen brushed aside the challenge of home side R. Charleroi SC, running out 6-1 winners at the Communal stadium. The hosts had scored first through Gregory Dufer, but the Antwerp side soon took command, with Kwame Quansah responsible for half of their six-goal haul. Anthony Obodai helped in the rout with a 26th-minute goal.

Racing Genk 9-0 FC Malines
KRC Genk's Wesley Sonck scored an astonishing six goals as his side crushed Eerste Klasse opponents KV Mechelen 9-0 on Sunday. Theo Amuzu started the game and left the field in the 52 minute, with his side down 5-0.

Bundesliga leaders FK Austria Wien came unstuck at the weekend when they lost 2-1 against third-placed SK Sturm Graz. Goals from Charles Amoah and Imre Szabics were enough for the vistitors to hand the Bundesliga front-runners their second consecutive loss after last week’s defeat at the hands of SV Ried.

Two Marc-Eric Guei goals seemed to have earned Montpellier H?rault a priceless home win over SC Bastia. However, Michael Essien pulled a goal back early in the second half, and C?dric Uras got a late equaliser to make it 2-2 and leave the home side still struggling in the relegation zone.

Samuel Kuffour was at the center of defence as Bayern Munich increased their Bundesliga lead by winning 2-0 at Kaiserslautern in a clash of extremes on Saturday, pushing the four-times German champions deeper into crisis. Bayern now seem to be cruising towards their 18th German title after Otto Addo's Dortmund seriously undermined their chances of retaining the crown.

Champions Borussia Dortmund dropped two places to fourth after losing 2-0 at VfL Wolfsburg as Argentine forward Diego Klimowicz scored twice to hand the Ruhr Valley side their second league defeat of the season. Hans Sarpei played 90 minutes, while ex- black stars captain Charles Akonnor came on as a substitute late in the second half.

Chievo's super form continued with a 1-0 win over Empoli thanks to Massimo Marazzina's strike. John Mensah started and played the full game.

Twente have finally managed to book their first home win of the season, beating Vitesse 1-0 in the Arke stadium with a Kurt van der Paar 12 minute goal. Mathew Amoah played 90 minutes for Vitesse

Alex Techie-Mensah is scoring again after a disappointing Nations Cup in Mali. The striker equalized for St Gallen as they came from behind to beat Young Boys 2-1. It was St Gallen's first win since losing 11-3 on 3 November.
