Waris handed No.29 jersey at Valenciennes

New Valenciennes signing Abdul Majeed Waris has been handed the number 29 jersey.

The Ghana striker was outdoored on Friday after completing a six-month loan move from Russian side Spartak Moscow.

The jersey number handed Waris was previously worn by club legend Fellipi Sappi.

The 22 year-old wants more playing time to remain match fit for the 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil.

Waris managed only four league matches for Spartak Moscow for the first half of the season.
