GFA to award key sponsors and individuals

The Ghana Football Association will present awards to its key sponsors and seven distinguished individuals at a special New Year dinner.

Several sponsors contributed immensely and in diverse ways to the development of football in the country in 2013 which has prompted the decision to reward them.

Their exemplary gesture will be acknowledged during the special event at the Alisa Hotel in Accra on Friday January 3, 2014.

Among the sponsors to be presented with awards are Headline Sponsor of the Black Stars, GNPC, which signed a $3m a year deal to sponsor the senior national team last year.

Beverage Sponsors of the Black Stars, Guinness Ghana Brewery Limited, who have remained committed to the Black Stars for nearly two decades will also be awarded.

Other Black Stars sponsors to receive awards are Food Sponsors - CCTC (importers of Ricemaster), Dream Sponsors - Latex Foam Ghana Limited, and Official Banking Partner - Unibank Ghana,

Title Sponsors of the FA Cup, MTN will also be presented with an award for its committed financial support of the knock-out competition. Ghana Premier League partners, Voltic Ghana Limted and SuperSport will also be presented with awards.

Seven individuals, who have served in various capacities on the judicial committees of the GFA, will also receive awards for their contribution to the success of the FA in recent years.

The individuals are Supreme Court Justices, Sule Gbadegbe and Anin Yeboah, Justice Isaac Aboagye, Justice Amadou Tanko and Mr Nutifafa Kuenyehia.

The rest are Mr Kenneth Johnfia and Mr J.K.C. Edzie.
