The African Dream speaks to Yomi Kuku on Brazil 2014

I recently had this rather interesting interview with Yomi Kuku; a Journalist, Soccer Enthusiast and President of Search and Groom Nigeria, a Youth Development Center in Lagos, the former capital of Nigeria.

We talked about the road leading to the world cup in Brazil 2014 for Africa, the nature of some of the games that respective African teams played during the qualifications and how they will affect performance in Brazil.

Yomi and I also talked about his favorite teams and players of African descent at respective world cups and why he felt they deserved his accolades. Though he mentioned a couple of his Nigerian compatriots, he was very objective and unbiased in his assessments.

We also talked about the possibility of Africa winning the World Cup in the future, what African teams are more prepared to do so and what the continent needs to do in order to secure a FIFA World Cup victory sooner than later. One thing was noted as the bane of Africa--poor management and over politicization of soccer.

My chat with Yomi ended with him talking about which teams he felt will be worth paying attention to at Brazil 2014 and which of them will probably end up posing a threat to the attempt of Brazil fighting to emerge world soccer champions on their home turf for a record sixth time.
