Awal wants to improve under Clinton

Maritzburg United player Awal Mohammed wants to improve under new Head Coach Clinton Larsen after he started for the side over the weekend against Amazulu.

The Black Stars defender’s performance took a nose dive under former Manager Ernest Middendorp during the latter’s last days at Maritzburg United. And the 25-year-old defender wants to glitter under new Coach Clinton Larsen after playing the full match against Amazulu over the weekend.

“I want to play week and week out, it was difficult for me at some point in time, and am extremely happy I was selected to play ahead of some of the players, I know my capabilities, I know when am fit and free from injuries I will be solid for this team, my aim is to play and help the team, Clinton has been good for us although he is new, and if a new Manager or Coach comes in like that he expects the players to up their game and that is what I want to do to help”, Awal Mohammed told Finawhistlegh.com in an exclusive interview.

The former Kumasi Asante Kotoko defender has promised to make the best out of the opportunity given to him by New Coach Clinton.

“I know the kind of competition in this team, and I know is not going to be easy, so if am given the opportunity I have to cease it and do well for the team and the new Coach and that is what I want to do”.
