Kotoko to scout for strikers at WAFU tourney

Asante Kotoko will be observing the West African Football Union tournament set for Kumasi in about a fortnight to come as a premise to scout a top notch striker for the second round of the league as well as their CAF Champions League campaign, Footy-ghana.com is informed.
A niggling injury to leading marksman Seidu Bancey early on in the season has seen head coach Mas-Ud Dramani forced to play offensive midfielder Yahaya Mohammed in a more advanced striking role and this has been telling on the porcupine warriors’ conversion rate.
According to our sources, the technical team has earmarked the November 21-28 tournament which will see Ghana, Sierra Leone, Benin, Burkina Faso, Niger, Senegal, Gabon and defending champions Togo compete at the Kumasi and Obuasi Len Clay Stadia.
Already, Asante Kotoko has a gentleman’s agreement with the first son of Ghana legend Abedi Pele, Rahim Ayew, to sign and register for the side during the second transfer window and footy-ghana.com can reveal that talks are advanced to bring in former Medeama playmaker Daniel Larbi Koomson to augment their squad.
Footy-ghana.com understands the free agent is scheduled to undergo his medicals after Kotoko’s match-day 11 away fixture to regional rivals Ashanti Gold this weekend.
