Afum hits brace in Young Boys 8-0 Swiss Cup win

Ghana and Young Boys striker, Samuel Afum, scored his first goal of the season after his return from injury in an 8-0 mauling of Veyrier Sports on Saturday.

The game, which is a knockout fixture in the Swiss Cup, was played in the small town of Veyrier against the local amateur football club. Japanese Yuya Kubo scored the only goal in the first half but the second half was an avalanche of goals.

23-year-old Samuel Afum had a good outing. He grabbed a brace, to open his account for the season and also provided three assists. Helios Sessolo got three goals, as Rapha Nuzzolo and Francois Affolter both got a goal each.

The former Hearts of Oak player missed the beginning of the season after going under the knife for a knee surgery some weeks ago and has been on the recovery trail since. Young Boys will now wait to know their opponents for the next stage of the competition.
