Cycling Association and GOC smoke peace pipe

The Ghana Cycling Federation at its Executive meeting held on the 1st August, 2013 unilaterally agreed to allow sleeping dogs lie in the litigation matter which was pending before the High Court, Fast Track Division, Accra since November, 2011.

The High Court in its ruling dated 31st July, 2013 refused the applicants’ motion to set aside the elections held on the 29th November, 2011 which put Professor Francis Dodoo and his executives in office. The President of the Ghana Cycling Federation Mohammed Sahnoon said ‘’although we are dissatisfied with the ruling of the court we do not intend to pursue the matter any further by way of a review or appeal. We have reasonable grounds but in the interest of unity and development of Ghana sports we are not going to litigate anymore. We believe as a federation in the rule of law and will not relent in ensuring that true democracy prevails in the affairs of the Ghana Olympic Committee and the administration of sports generally”.

The Cycling Federation pledged its support to the Olympic Committee in all its endeavors and took the opportunity to inform all media outfits that the next major assignment for the federation after the mammoth Cowbell National Cycling Tour 2013 will be the ECOWAS International Cycling Tour and the Africa continental championships in Egypt in November 2013.

According to the Communications Director of the Federation Dennis Moore,, the Tour is in support of the objectives of ECOWAS on free flow of its citizens, goods and services.
