I agree with you about the need for both public and private financing for sports. NSA should have had a plan in place to aggressively pursue private funding even if they end up not being successful
Also note that games of this magnitude will need public support. Most private orgs want to know scope of government support before they commit. Catch 22 situation.

I am writing in an apparent reaction to above article captioned NSA MUST WAKE UP.
It appears clearly that the writer does not seem to understand the working relationship that exist between the ministry and the authority when it comes to who is responsible for what. Is the writer aware that the NSA cannot on its own act without a firm endorsement by the ministry on any state sporting event. Is the writer aware that the Authority. How many of the very people who are accused of failing to source for sponsorship even part of the LOC? When was the last correspondence to the NSA that gave it the nod to proceed with matters affecting the Unity Games. Does the writer realize how the other so called lesser known sports are treated in sharp contrast with football in Ghana. For example, can any reasonable follower of sports in Ghana explain why the only athletics track at the National Stadium was removed away? Do we realize how unattractive other sports disciplines are packaged to potential sponsors?
Rather than attacking the root cause of the problem, innocent people at the NSA who do not even have the political dynasty to take concrete decisions get blamed for nothing.

What do sponsors get when they throw away such huge sums of money for such state public events? How attractive are we even packaging our other sporting disciplines to corporate sponsors? Do we think it easy for these same companies who are crying for businesses and huge tax burden to keep throwing away monies? How have we even also honored our promises to corporate bodies in the past who have supported and sponsored previous events such as this? Can any one explain why RLG for example who has provided so much assistance to sports now taken a U TURN not to support? Who can explain why basic facilities such as the athletic track is absent from the stadium? Why do you blame noble personalities like ALICE ATTIPOE at the NSA when the very people who need the whip at the ministry is spared the rod? We don't seem to be serious with sports at all. When it is football, Indeed, the story is always different but when it comes to other sporting disciplines, its the same. It very much looks like everyone is pretending, from the highest person occupying that enviable sporting seat to the very last person on the floor.

He is obviously not looking anywhere before leaping and that is why he is attacking able, noble and hardworking Alice Attipoe and her team who does not even possess the smallest political axe in sports to take any firm decision on matters relating to sports.

Even if there isn't funding where's the presence of NSA on sites like this one, facebook, youtube, twitter, etc. You don't need huge government loans to use these tools.
