Asare Owusu not interested in Kotoko top job

Footy-ghana.com can exclusively confirm that former Asante Kotoko Chief Executive Sylvester Asare Owusu is not interested in returning to the position.

Asare Owusu, who has held the position in two previous spells, has been linked with the job since the recent resignation of Dr. Kofi Kodua Sarpong as the Executive Board Chairman.

Even though Asare Owusu remains a popular choice amongst the supporters, footy-ghana.com sources reveal that he wants to focus on building a media empire to add to his other business interests and as such will not be interested in returning to the position.

Footy-ghana.com understands that the former Kotoko boss in on the verge of setting up radio stations in Kumasi and Accra as he ventures into the media.

In a related development, footy-ghana.com understands that Asare Owusu was summoned to Manhyia Palace on Tuesday night in a bid to convince him to take up the job.

According to our sources, other names linked with the vacant position include business magnates Kwame Kyei, Akwasi Boadu and the Chief Executive of Champion Divine Clinic, Dr Kwaku Frimpong.
