Kotoko to sack coach Dramani

Ghana league champions Kumasi Asante Kotoko have mutually agreed to part ways with their coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, Goal Ghana can exclusively reveal.

The Porcupine Warriors’ management held a crunch meeting with the former Black Maidens coach on Thursday evening to agree on terms.

According to reliable sources within the Kotoko hierarchy, the former Right to Dream Academy trainer will be walking away with his three months advance salary plus a Gh¢5000 severance fee.

Dramani led the Kumasi-based club to their 22nd Ghana Premier League title at the close of the 2012-13 season, but failed to realise the double target after losing the FA Cup to Medeama in a 1-0 defeat a week ago.

Goal Ghana understands the Porcupine Warriors decided to part ways with Dramani mainly due to his failure to go past the group stage of the Caf Champions League last season. Officials who met Dramani to agree on the parting terms include the board chairman Dr. KK Sarpong, Wilberforce Mfum and Alhaji Lamine among others.

Kotoko have qualified to participate in the elite inter-club competition of Africa once again next term, and would be looking forward to improve on their previous performance this time around with a new coach.

Officials have remained tightlipped over the news, but Goal Ghana learnt an official announcement would be made sometime next week.

Meanwhile, Right to Dream Academy officials have refused media reports they are in talks with Dramani. “So far as we are concerned, Dramani is with Kotoko so we want to respect that contract and we have not made any contact with him as we speak,” a source said.
