GGA to reach out to media and public

Accra, July 2, – The Ghana Golf Association (GGA) as part of its efforts to reach out to the media and the general public will on Wednesday, July 16, organize a one day seminar on the sport.

The seminar, which will be held by at the media center of the Accra Sports Stadium at 10 am and will be attended by representatives of the various media houses, supporters groups and sports callers.

A statement by the GGA said, the seminar will be used to educate the media and the public on the technicalities of the sports to enhance their understanding.

It added that, the seminar also forms part of efforts of the Association to demystify the sport which is regarded as a reserved sport for the rich and well to do.

The seminar is one of the several programmes lined up by the Association to educate the media and the public.

Group Captain Gyimah Kwakye, General Secretary of the GGA said his outfit is bothered quality of reportage by the media on the sport and there was the need to identify those interested in the reporting on the sports and give them the required training.

He said the supporters and sports callers will be given the opportunity to learn about the game to enhance their appreciation of the sport and give it the needed support.

The one day exercise will be handled by Mike Aggrey, 1st Vice President of GGA, Group Captain Kwakye and other prominent golfers.

The General Secretary was of the firm conviction that, the exercise which is one the several activities designed to make the sport popular will yield the desired result.
