Ocansey Captures Lipton July Medal

Emmanuel E. Ocansey captured the lead to win the July Lipton Bi-Monthly medal at the Tema Country Golf Club.

Ocansey rode the momentum with a front nine lone birdie (hole 9) and followed it up with birdies on holes 12, 13 and 15 on the back nine. He continued the streak with 10 pars and 4 bogeys to complete the round for a defining net score of 70 off handicap 7. He took home an SDF Driver as prize.

Charles Ofori, E. T Mensah, T. Komladzei trailed second, third and fourth places each on a net score of 71 but separated on countback in the Men Group A. They received a putter, 5 & 7 irons and Souvenirs respectively as prizes.

In the Ladies Group A, Florence Etwi-Barimah won on a three-shot advantage after recording a net score of 74 to beat into second position, Magaret Anderson who scored a net of 77. Mona Captan posted a net score of 78 for third place. The three received 3 Wood, Rescue and Souvenirs respectively as prizes. In the Men Group B, Joseph Nettey shot a net score of 68 to place first and took home a 4 wood. Nana Antwi-Darkwa stayed one stroke off the pace for second place with E. Appiah Korang a further three strokes back at 71 for third place.

Meanwhile in the Ladies Group B, Cathy Boateng stayed in the hunt with remarkable swings and putting accuracy to storm home a net score of 74 for a putter as prize. P. T Musaka recorded same net score but was separated on countback for second place glory.

Lipton’s July edition of the Bi-Monthly medal saw an improvement over the previous ones with an exciting prize package that were mostly golf related products.
