Greater Accra Hockey gain from Beige Capital

Beige Capital, a new financial institution making great strides in the country’s economy is to sponsor the Greater Accra Hockey Knock Out for the next three years at 45,000 Ghana Cedis.

The deal which cost 15,000 Ghana Cedis per season will see Beige Capital also benefiting from branding the National Hockey pitch in Accra and gaining media coverage and publicity during balloting and competition.

Signing the contract at the offices of the National Hockey Stadium, Mr. Frank Awuku, Chairman of the Greater Accra Hockey Association said the region boasts of 23 hockey clubs and they need support to get the game developing.

He stressed that hockey is serious business for those who play and like any other sports; they need financial support to grow. Derick Ewudzie- Odoom, Head of Region said they chosed to support hockey because the sport has been played in Ghana for many decades and they were impressed with facilities at the National Hockey pitch. He noted that Beige is growing from strength to strength and they want to grow with hockey. He expressed that their company does not waste time in taking good decisions so they embraced the proposal form the Greater Accra Hockey Association and want to create cordial relations with clubs, officials, players and patrons of the game.

Ewudzie- Odoom said football has dwarfed other sports in sponsorship seeking and Beige Capital want to support hockey to bring fairness in their social responsibilities.

“We want to contribute to the growth of hockey and let it reach the desired standard level, so we are putting up 15,000 Ghana Cedis for three years totaling 45,000 Ghana Cedis and we want to advice the hockey fraternity to maintain their appreciable facilities” he added.

Present at the signing ceremony were Samuel Ofosu, Vice Chairman of the Greater Accra Hockey Association and officials of Beige Capital and some members of the hockey fraternity.
