Berekum Arsenal pull out of League

Berekum Arsenals have withdrawn from the Ghana Premier League with just four matches to end the season, Ghanasoccernet.com can reveal.
Club officials took the decision to pull the plugs on their involvement after an emergency meeting on Tuesday.
Club owner Yakubu Moro claims his side have been given a raw deal after they were slapped with a hefty fine following crowd trouble during their Premier League game against Hearts two months ago.
The club has notified the Ghanaian FA over their latest decision which is expected to spark massive debate in the West African country.
Moro told Kumasi based Metro FM: “We’ve had it up to our neck, and I believe it’s time I call it quit. We have been unfairly treated since we started playing in the top-flight and we can't continue.
“Management took the decision to quit because we feel it’s not worth it. We have notified the Ghana FA of our decision".
Arsenal have been unhappy since been handed an GH¢ 8,000 (US$ 4,000) fine after crowd trouble marred their home game against Hearts of Oak on March 19.
They feel there is a deliberate ploy by some persons within the Ghanaian FA who are bent on ensuring they are relegated to the country’s second-tier league.
Officials of the club have, therefore, called off the bluff of their perceived ‘enemies’ by pulling the plugs on their involvement with just four games to end the season.
The gunners were facing a potential long-term home ban as they are almost certain to be relegated at the end of the current campaign.
