Afriyie Acquah to join Sassuolo

Ghanaian Fifa agent Oliver Arthur will negotiate with German side TSG Hoffenheim for the release of his client Afriyie Acquah to Sassuolo on loan this summer if they get relegated.

A close source to the agent told Goal.com Ghana that talks will begin with Sassuolo who are home and dry to play in the Italian Serie A next season as they have expressed interest in having the experienced young midfielder in their team for the coming season.

Acquah moved from Parma to Hoffenheim during the last day of the 2013 winter transfer window but has failed to make a single appearance for the German Bundesliga club and this has been a source of worry, especially looking at the impressive performances he exhibited in the Serie A.

The midfielder is highly recognised in Italy where he had a fantastic outing with Sicily-based Parlemo before moving to Parma and his signing by Sassuolo will be a replacement for Yussif Chibsah Raman who is heading back to Parma.

Hoffenheim are wallowing at the drop with 24 points and with only six games to the end of the season only a great deal of effort could save the club from going back to Bundesliga II after their five years stint in the top level.

Sassuolo are also having in their fold Richmond Boakye-Yiadom who is also represented by Mr. Arthur.
