Everton pondering $15m swoop for Atsu

English side Everton have targeted Porto’s Ghanaian winger Christian Atsu as their first signing of the summer transfer window, reports suggest.
21-year-old Atsu has impressed for Porto in his first season for the club, having been sent out on loan to Rio Ave last campaign.
The quicksilver wide man garnered the attention of Tottenham Hotspur during the summer, but Portuguese newspaper Abola suggest that Everton are preparing a bid.
David Moyes’ side have a formal bid for Atsu currently under consideration at the club, with a fee of €10 million enough to meet his release clause and pave the way for a move to Goodison Park.
The Ghana international can offer David Moyes the versatility he looks for in so many of his attacking outlets, with Atsu having already played in a number of attacking positions during his time in Portugal.
Upon his return to the Estadio do Dragao last summer, Atsu has gone on to make 12 appearances for Porto, who currently sit two points off league leaders Benfica.
