NEW EDUBIASE WILL BE KNOCKED OUT IN THE FIRST RD BCOS 2 OF THEIR BEST PLAYERS WERE SOLD OFF AFTER 1 GOOD SEASON. IF THESE PLAYERS WERE STILL WITH EDUBIASE. WOULDNT IT BODE WELL FOR THE CLUB, THE LEAGUE, THE NATION IN TERMS OF REVENUE GENERATION N SUCCESS?

I agree. The league needs to keep some of its players. The owners of clubs are either selfish or poor so sell players at a high rate.

Kwesi Appiah must stop scouting the local league for talent and instead must develop relationships with the foreign coaches who coach our players overseas so that he can get updates on their progress in training and things of that sort. The local league will never form the core of the Ghanaian team.

A great analysis. Most importantly the player should have consistent playing time in good leagues.Gyan is a starter in his team but beacause the league is sub mediocre, one could see he was not up to the challenge offered by opposing defenders. When he was in UDINESE ,he used to play upfront by himself and he did well. The league you play in matters. The competition brings the best of you.The Ghanaian players are not physically strong. I donot know whether the physical training for the players are up to the standards. We need well built defenders as well.
Finally Ghanaians should stop insulting players when they do not play well. One can criticise a player but shoud not be insulted. We should encourage them to feel proud to play for the national team as great players like Rooney ,RVP,Falcao, Messi, Aguero,Tavers etc do for their countries. Many times MESSI HAD NOT PLAYED well for Argentina but an Argentian friend told me no one insults Messi WHEN HE DOES NOT PLAY WELL.
Ghana still has the quality to qualify and compete in the world cup.
Put pride aside and encourage KPB to return----there is no attacking mildfielder in Ghana better than him in my opinion.Solidify the holding midfield position by Bringing in Frimpong and also keeping AGYEMAN BADU as a back up.WE need the experince of Sulley, the guy is more matured and playing well for AC. With the AYEWS in form, we should present a strong team against Sudan and beat them well and proceed to beat Zambia.

CLUB TV/RADIO STATIONS, NEWSPAPERS, MAGAZINES? CLUB PARAPHERNALIA SALES AT STADIUMS, ONLINE ETC? SEASON TICKET SALES? WHO SELLS FOOD N DRINKS AT THE SE STADIUMS? THEY DONT KNOW HOW TO MAKE MONEY, SO EVEN A MONKEY WOULDNT STAY IF THE LAWS ARENT THERE.
CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME. IF WE DOTN HAVE A CORE BASE OF LOCAL PLAYERS TO POOL FROM TO REPRESENT GH, THEN WATS THE POINT? ALWAYS RELYING ON FOREIGN BASED PLAYERS? PREVIOUS AFCON WINNERS...TUNISIA, EGYPT, ZAMBIA AND NOW NAIJA ALL PARADED MOSTLY LOCAL BASED PLAYERS TO THESE COMPETITIONS. TOO MANY GYIMI GYIMI PPL IN GH!

Espérance and Mazembe: mediocre teams in Africa? Are you sure? See how Zambia made use of its Mazembe players in 2012. Better join an African club and play than join a European club just to warm the bench!

Beautiful. I wonder if Akwasi Appiah and technical team think at all. How can you select a local player when a foreign player is doing well in a trippplllee advanced league in the name of promoting the local league? It is rather senseless player promotion which is not result driven. i wonder of they even understand my english. dummies! Local players with quality= foreign player asante and kissi, after putting them in the team withoit due merit where are they now? in CONGO. There is no substitute for quality. If a local player is good let him join the local blackstars. simple. Let our Blackstars be result driven and nothing else. No we want to elevate OUR OWN?

I am a realist. But I am not saying give up on improving the local league. All I am saying is that if we want to be competitve in world football we need to utilise our foreign based who are active in better leagues. They are ours! and we should consider ourselves LUCKY to have them unlike countries like zambia who will be happy to have those foreign player resource.

as a player,i gets angrey whenever i hear people talking about why the local players are moving out of the country whenever there is the slightest chance, thus making the Ghanaian league not attractive and competitive.lemme emphasize these points as clarity for everybody to know whats really going on in our so called Glo Premier League.a team sign a player for istance for 10,000 GHC and pays the player a part of 3,000 with the verbal words attached to it.thus we will pay you in installed so every season we will pay a third of the total amount.with this verbal notation, thats the end of the rest of the players money.they will then pay you 100GHC as your monthly salary of which some teams pays as low as 50GHC /month.apart from Kotok,Ashgold,Brekum Chelsea whose payments ranges between 150 - 300GHC/month,the rest is of the teams is history.now my friends, which Ghanaian local player will not go and play in Benin if he will earn $1500/month?its a big question we all need to answer.about 4years ago,the GFA met to discuss the salary of the players and they suggested that the minimum pay for a player should be 100GHC/month.the clubs objetcted to it and said they cant pay.how then do you expect our league to be attractive.i have a lot to say but for now i will pause here.

How did Ghana win African cups in the 60s. With the approval of the then government, Ohene Djan assembled Real Republicans as the base of our national team with invitation of some Kotoko, Hearts, Olympics etc players to join them on national assignments. As such the national team were always prepared; they players were well taken care of by the govt. they handled real Madrid well in Accra; played some big name professional teams. In short Ghana govt.should play a very important role; form a model club, let them play in local league and expose them to a lot of international friendlies. Must at least play a minimum of 3years and max 5years before can be sold outside. Share the transfer fee among the local league teams to incentivize them and to accept the model club in their league.
