Kotoko chase third place as they meet Liberty

Champions, Asante Kotoko have failed to excite their fans after a rather slow start to their title defence in the Glo Premier League.

But ahead of their last fixture to end the first round against Liberty Professionals on Sunday, the Porcupine Warriors will be dreaming of a win, which will lift them into the top-four of the standings.

Both sides will clash at the Accra Sports Stadium after the fixture, expected to have been played last weekend was brought forward by the Premier League Board.

Sitting sixth on the table, the champions will be eager to take all three points against Liberty which will move them to third.

However, without first choice goalkeeper, Abdoulaye Soulama, who is preparing for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations with Burkina Faso, Kotoko know they have a match on their hands when they come face-to-face with an attack-minded Liberty side.

Despite struggling to remain consistent with results, Liberty have not fared too bad and could hurt the Porcupine Warriors to secure 8th position.

Either side can claim all three points but Kotoko looks more likely to leave the grounds with all the share of the spoils in the bag.
