Pantsil: Ghana will win AFCON trophy

Black Stars defender John Pantsil says not having won an Africa Cup of Nations title has been a nightmare to most of the players in the current squad.

He promised that come February 10, 2013 Ghana will emerge continental champions.

In an exclusive interview before the team’s departure to Abu Dhabi, John Pantsil said the senior players in the squad have committed to advising the young ones to help deliver the Africa Cup of Nations to Ghanaians.“It is our time to win the trophy”, he says.

He said he has also committed personally to helping Asamoah Gyan become the captain to lift the trophy.

John Pantsil will be making a fifth appearance at the tournament, making him one of Ghana’s most experienced players in the competition.
