Beach Soccer: Keta Sunset Sports still riding high

Defending champions Keta Sunset Sports and Wuo Gb33 Bsc continued their impressive start to the cal bank 2012/2013 beach soccer championship season as they clinched impressive victories over Dansoman bsc and Tegbi Youth respectively to go level on points at the summit of the log.

A brace each from Gilbert kumedzro and Ambrose Este ensured the maximum three points for keta sunset sports who brushed aside Dansoman with cheeky ease. Dansoman had nothing to show for the day's work and would need to improve on the standings sooner than later. Wuo gb33 continued from where they left it on match day two and raced into a 2-0 lead, which they preserved to snatch the three points on offer in their game against Tegbi Youth.

Last season's runners up, Havedji Mighty Warriors recorded their first win of the season after they beat debutants Teshie united by a lone goal. Havedji despite being favorites to win the game made heavy weather of dispatching the underdogs, Aziz Kofi's 28th minute strike saved the blushes of the Mighty Warrios. The result means Teshie united continue their woeful start to the season that has seen them lose three out of three.

In other championship games, a brace from Divine Sappor and strikes from Billy Kisseh and Joseph Larwea saw the ever improving Ada Assurance run out 4-1 victors over east Legon Sharks. The consolation goal for the sharks was struck by Caesar Sohu.

La Yoca are still chasing their first win of the season after they were held to a 3-3 draw by Nungua United. Nungua who lost by a 4 goal margin on match day two would view the draw as a point gained rather than two points lost.

In division one, a four goal thriller between Gulf powers and Chorkor blue whales was certainly the pick of bunch for fans gathered at the la beach soccer arena. Both clubs had come into the game on the back of great results on match day 2. Chorkor Blue Whales put their noses in front courtesy a Habib Nadar strike in the 8th minute but were pecked back within five minutes when Frank Antwi nodded in from a perfect corner kick. Frank Antwi put his team further in front with another expertly struck free kick but Kingsely Addo broke hearts with his goal right at the depth which saw both sides share the spoils.

In other results, Senya sharks beat debutant Winneba giants 2-1 put themselves in pole position for the title challenge. Nima beach soccer club beat African Angels by 3 goals to one. Elsewhere strikes from Albert Tagoe and Foster Nortey sealed an important 2-1win for Tema united at the expense of Cape coast warriors whose solitary was scored by Abass Abofa.
