Jerry Akaminko: I have a lot to offer Ghana

Turkey Based Ghana international, Jerry Akaminko has sent assurance to the nation on his commitment to helping the National team team lift it fifth Nations cup after failing to do so in over eleven attempt.

The versatile defender who has featured in both right full back and central defence for his club Eski?ehirspor in the Turkish super league has hit form almost at the right time and he is adamant the nation has a lot to gain from his improvement.

'Moving to Eski?ehirspor is the smartest decision I have ever made and trhank God it is yielding dividends"

"I would never have been able to get to where I am if not for the support and prayers of Ghanaian"

"I am among the few players who have enjoyed lot of support with less criticism and believe the only way I can merit the faith Ghanaians have kept in me is to show up strongly when given the chance in the National team" Speaking ahead of today's friendly encounter with Cape Verde, he assured Ghanaians of a resounding victory against their Western Africa opponent. "We have prepared very well for this game and can only think of winning at this moment". "This is our first major preparation match ahead of the African Cup of Nations and we are taking it seriously."

He further implored on players in the Glo premier leagues and all seeking to play at the highest level to bid their and mature in the local league before making the decision to travel abroad.

According to him, the rushing of Ghanains players abroad without allowing them to acquire the mental toughness needed to succeed at the highest level here in Ghana is the reason why many genuine talents fail to blossom. "I have been able to cope in Europe because of the experience I acquired in Ghana and doing so for a longtime".

"I think that should be the way it should go and I believe if that is than, Ghana would be spoilt with options in every department of the game". Reporter: Isaac Kyei Andoh
