Bekoe released by Petrojet; set for Kotoko move

Ghanaian striker Eric Bekoe is set for a return to Asante Kotoko after the player confirmed he has been released by Petrojet.

The 24-year-old is now a free agent to continue his career with his next destination likely to be the Ghana Premier League.

Bekoe has been sidelined for close to two seasons with knee problems.

He made a return last year but that coincided with the cancellation of football activities in Egypt following the political upheaval in the North African country.

"It means a lot to me because after making the waves here I wanted a new challenge and this is something I have always been waiting for," Bekoe told Accra-based Joy FM.

"I'm a happy man and the thing fell on the exact day I was born (Tuesday). This is a turning point in my career."

Bekoe won the Ghana Premier League goal king in 2009 with 17 goals for Asante Kotoko.
