CAF Lincense (C) Course ends in Tamale

The fifth edition of the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) License (C) football Training Course, designed to sharpen the competence of the continent's coaches has ended in Tamale.

39 Ghanaian coaches including a foreigner from Thailand participated in the two-week training course.

The participants were taught subjects such as the theory of coaching methods, practical performance, practical coaching, laws of the game and sports psychology, with Coach Oti Akenteng, Technical Director of the Ghana Football Association, and Mr Anthony Edusei as some of the Instructors.

This is the first time the training course has been held outside the Greater Accra Region.

Mr Ben Koufie, CAF External Examiner of the License (C) Course in a brief with GNA Sports during the closing session of the course in Tamale, said the course became necessary following CAF's new law, which required coaches to have its license to be able and allowed to coach Clubs on the continent.

He said the "law is to be enforced by this year, thus if you do not hold a CAF License you cannot sit on the bench of your country, you cannot also coach in the local league".

Koufie said the participants earlier attended an introductory course where they qualified for the training.

He commended the participants for their positive attitude and enthusiasm towards the course.
