Baah rubbishes 2-yrs Kotoko Extension report

Management of Gideon Baah [TBD Management Ltd] has come out to discredit recent reports in the Ghanaian media which alleges that, the Asante Kotoko left-back has extended his contract with the 2011/12 Ghana premier league winners for another 2 years.

After speaking to Baah's agent, www.gideonbaah.com can confirm that these reports are misleading. FIFA players’ agent, Ms. Eby Emenike highlighted that, although her client [Gideon Baah] is still negotiating a contract extension with the Kumasi based team, nothing substantial had been agreed by the parties involved.

Eby Emenike stated: “We all know that the Dr K.K Sarpong led-administration of Asante Kotoko has done a lot for Gideon and he will forever be grateful for that. However, we [parties involved] all want his career to progress and we are looking into available options.”

“All these false rumours are disruptive because if there were to be any clubs interested in Gideon, they may lose interest believing he is tied up for another 2 years. People forget that no matter how much a footballer loves his club, he also wants career progression.”

“You will see someone rejoicing because he/she has been promoted at work and received a big pay rise, but under the same breathe, they will shout abuse at a football player who has decided to leave his current club and develop his own career.”

“As long as everything is done above board, it should not be an issue. Nothing has been set in stone yet but when there is something concrete, it will be made official”

Gideon Baah joined Kumasi Asante Kotoko three seasons ago from Sporting Mirren.
