Ethics Committee decides on alleged bribery

The Ethics Committee, chaired by DCOP Kofi Boakye (Vice-Chairman), has recommended the dismissal and ban of Mr. S.Y Berimah and Mr. Andrew Gyakye Frimpong respectively after ending proceedings in the matter of alleged bribery.

Mr. S.Y Berimah, Chairman of the Appointment Committee and Mr. Andrew Gyakye Frimpong Chairman of Dabiso Royal F.C were both found guilty.

Ethics proceedings against Mr. S.Y Berimah was opened on 19th June, 2012 into a case of alleged bribery.

Having listened to the extracts of the interviews the R.F.A Chairman (Mr. Augustine Asante), the Chairman of Dabiso and the Chairman of the Appointment Committee had on Radio Gold FM and their submission when called before the Committee, the Ethics Committee decides that:

I. Mr. S.Y Berimah is dismissed as chairman of the B.A Referees Association without prejudice to further criminal action.

II. Mr. S.Y Berimah should further refund the GH¢1000.00 he accepted taken from the Chairman of Dabiso Royal F.C to the GFA.

III. Chairman of Dabiso Royal F.C, Mr. Andrew Gyakye Frimpong being an accomplice is banned from all football activities for six (6) months and fined GH¢2000.00.
