MTN FA Cup ties to go into extra time, no replays

The FA Cup Committee have announced that all quarter-final ties in the MTN FA Cup will go to extra time and penalties, thus avoiding replays.

Eight teams will continue their hopes of landing the Cup this weekend when the quarter-final action gets underway.

Two second tier sides are competing with six clubs from the premiership ranks for places in the last four stage of the competition.

But ahead of the crunch games, the FACC says there will be no replays in the event of a tie during regulation time from this stage of the competition.

Matches that are tied will not be postponed but sent into extra time and when that still fails to produce a winner, the tie will be decided on penalties.

Quarter-finals

Danbort v New Edubiase - 8th June

Chelsea v Amidaus - 10th June

AshantiGold v Hearts of Oak - 10th June

Wassaman v Tema Youth - 10th June
