Turkish club dismiss Baffour deal claims

Turkish side Antalyspor have rubbished reports striker Emmanuel Baffour has signed for the club.

The 24-year-old travelled to Turkey last week to undergo a medical with the club.

A report however on a Ghanaian website insisted the Ghana Premier League top scorer has finalized a deal with Antalyspor and will join the club at the end of the season.

Officials of the Turkish club have however dismissed these reports by saying no agreement has been reached upon to sign the New Edubiase striker.

“We have not signed Baffor,” Antalyspor Sporting Director Sadat said.

Baffour who has scored 21 goals this season is part of a 30-man squad named by Ghana coach Akwasi Appiah for the 2014 World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zambia next month.

He is however yet to join the Black Stars preparations since arriving from Turkey on Wednesday night – fuelling speculations he will be dropped from the final squad for the games on June 1 and June 9 respectively.
