The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has rescheduled the fifth week Premier League matches for Wednesday, May 8, at all league centres.
A statement issued in Accra and signed by Kwaku Ampim-Darko, Deputy General Secretary (Technical) did not give any reason but it is being speculated that it could be due to the anniversary of May 9 when 126 soccer fans perished at the Accra Sports Stadium during an epic league encounter between the two giants of Ghana soccer, Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko.
In a related development, the GFA said it regrets not being able to announce the name of the new coach for the senior national team, the Black Stars, on Wednesday, May 1, as promised.
"The matter is at the governmental level and every effort is being made to release the name in the next few days", the statement said.
