Ghana moves a place up on FIFA rankings

Ghana have moved a place up on the latest Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) rankings released on Wednesday.

The Black Stars moved to the 22nd position, one place up from their previous in the last two months, even though Ghana dropped four points from 820 points to 816 points.

Ghana who begins the qualifying campaign of the 2014 World Cup in June with newly appointed Coach, Kwasi Appiah at the helm of affairs remained the second best on the continent behind Cote d'Voire.

North Africans, Algeria stayed at the third position with Mali overtaking African champions, Zambia to occupy the fourth slot in Africa.

Twenty-four matches were taken into account for the April edition of the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking, three-quarters of which were played at the AFC Challenge Cup.**
