GHAPOHA On The Verge Of Collapse

The relegation of GHAPOHA Football club to division one status has affected the smooth running of the once West African Union Cup champions.

The management of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority, sponsors of the club, is reported to have lost interest in the club. With no financial support, the club is now on the brink of collapse.

Sources told Myjoyonline.com that the club has lost over seven regular players to some premiership clubs.

Amongst them are captain, Frank Awuah who is now with Olympics, Sammy Addo to Liberty Professionals, Abubakari Kankani to Goldfields, Tahiru Brimah and Kwabena Boateng both to King Faisal.

The source said the relegation of the club from the premier league seems to have compelled the parent company-Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority to totally close their chapters with the club.

This is due to the fact that the club did not generate expected returns.

One major issue attributed to the clubs gradual demise is the absence of Capt. Anthony Cudjoe who was relived of his job.

For now there is no hope for the club.
