Ayew brothers sink Caen

Goals from brothers Andre and Jordan Ayew gave Marseille a 2-1 victory at Caen in Friday's (local time) Ligue 1 clash at Stade Michel d'Ornano.

The Ghanaian internationals scored either side of Pierre-Alain Frau's first-half equaliser for hosts Caen to send Didier Deschamps' side into seventh place ahead of the weekend's remaining fixtures.

Marseille took a 21st-minute lead through Andre Ayew, who scored from close range after Morgan Amalfitano's shot deflected off the bar.

But a mistake from goalkeeper Steve Mandanda allowed Caen to level from the penalty spot just two minutes later.

France international Mandanda fumbled a Romain Hamouma shot before fouling the onrushing Livio Nabad, leaving Frau to slot the ensuing penalty home for the equaliser.

Descahamps' men regained the ascendancy seven minutes after the interval when Jordan Ayew collected Lucho Gonzalez's centre and guided the ball past Alexis Thebaux in the Caen goal.

The visitors held on for just their second away win of the domestic campaign to move above Lorient and Saint-Etienne in the standings.

Caen's second successive defeat leaves them in 10th place.
