Ayi Bruce to state case on Pacquiao-Marquez epic

Ghana’s Mohammed Nii Ayi Bruce is bracing himself up for Saturday night when he features on the undercard of the highly anticipated epic welterweight contest between pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, USA.

Still smarting from suffering a 5th round TKO in his last fight having taken the bout within 48 hours notice, Ayi Bruce tells ALL SPORTS there can be no better stage for him to re-state his case for the big boys of the welterweight division of world boxing as well as hyping up his own world title credentials against 34 year old Philipino Dennis Laurente (40-4-5, 21 KOs).

“It was a big disappointment for me losing my last fight but it was a very useful lesson and I will never take a fight again at such short notice.

“This fight is once in a lifetime opportunity, I know the whole world will be watching so it’s my chance to let the world see what I’m capable of. I want to be a world champion by this same time next year and I see Saturday’s fight as the perfect platform to send a message to all the champions of my division that I’m ready for them,” Ayi Bruce, 20-4, 12 KOs, told ALL SPORTS from his US base.
