Ghadafi In Eastern Region Soccer

Whilst other regions in Ghana are doing all they can to uplift their image as far as football is concerned in the country, the Regional Football Association (R.F.A) in the Eastern Region has rather sworn thunder and earth that they will use all means within their power to run down football in the region.

The Eastern Regional RFA headed by Mr. Lawal has come under a lot of serious criticisms in the Ghanaian football media to the extent of citing the President of the Ghana Football Association Mr. Kwesi Nyantekyie who once said he cannot deny that the Chairman of the ‘Ghadafi’ football region in the country is a close friend but denied that he has no hand in his shady dealings in the region.

The latest news from the region is a scuffle between two clubs from Akosombo i.e. Golden Boot Academy and Krystal Palace Academy). The former has filed a protest against the latter at the appeals committee of the FA about their Eastern Regional Zone I middle league.

According to credible information available to www.pinkfmonlinegh.com, Krystal Palace used two registered players from a central regional division 1 team Windy Professionals (Bismark Obuobi and Stephen Gurah) to play in the middle league. Speaking to the Communication Director of Golden Boot Academy, Joehance Appiah, the quite unassuming gentleman said, “On the 28th October 2011, two of their so called players Stephen Gurah and Bismark Obuobi featured for Windy Professionals in their play off match against Westham at the Tema Park, I was there and I saw them play”.

“Eastern Region closed its registration period on the 30th April, 2011 so how come these two players playing for Windy Professionals on the 28th August 2011 managed to play again for Krystal Palace on the 15th September, 2011”, Appiah added.

Upon realizing this, Golden Boot filed a protest to the Disciplinary Committee but the case was quashed so the club has forwarded their plea to the Appeals Committee to dig further into the matter.

According to a source, the Eastern Regional RFA secretary Mr. Solomon Yamoah is alleged to have said that he’ll do all that he can to make sure that Golden Boot’s protest will not see the light of day.

Speaking to one of the mentioned players on phone, the player could not deny the fact but confirmed that he was indeed contacted by a top hierarchy member of Krystal Palace to come and help them qualify to the first division so upon a lot of negotiations the player decided to talk to two of his mates to join him go and execute the deal but the third player, Awudu Usman, declined to join the duo at the last hour because he was feeling some cockroaches in his stomach about the deal.

Another information available to www.pinkfmonlinegh.com has it that GHC 1500 has exchanged hands between Krystal Palace and Kotoku Royals who are likely to qualify should Krystal Palace win this case.
