Minister wills Black Stars to go for broke

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Clement Humado has willed the Black Stars to go for broke when they host Swaziland in a crucial African Cup of Nations qualifier on Friday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The Stars must win to keep their hold in Group I where Ghana sits at the summit with superior goals when they host the Southern Africans at the country’s Wembley tomorrow.

Mr Humado told GNA Sports, ‘the team must eschew any complacency and win convincingly to raise high the flag of Ghana since a slip could be costly.’

The Minister urged the team to put on display a stellar performance in order to win convincingly ‘so that Ghana can once again participate in the 2012 competition and bring the Cup home.’

He encouraged the technical and management teams of the Black Stars to work harder for a resounding victory and urged the sporting public to fill the arena and get behind the team throughout the duel.

The Stars spanked Swaziland 3-0 in the first fixture in an away encounter and will require a heavy win to ensure that a draw of any form against Sudan in the last game in Khartoum will be enough to guarantee qualification to the continental gathering in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea next January.
