Ex.Co moves to align leagues with FIFA calendar

The Executive Committee of the GFA has proposed that the domestic football competitions in the country start in October in order to align the schedule with the international calendar.

Members of Congress were on Thursday, during the opening session of the two-day meeting informed of the Ex.Co's decision to synchronise the competitions with the rest of the world.

Currently the league seasons in the country runs from August to May with fixtures routinely clashing with international dates on the FIFA calendar.

The organizers of various FA competitions have been charged to structure their competitions within the proposed period of October-May.
