Oforiquaye boost Olympiakos

Olympiakos received a double boost on Thursday when Ghana striker Peter Oforiquaye was ruled out of the African Nations Cup through injury, while goalkeeper Dimitris Eleftheropoulos declared himself fit for the Athens derby.

Oforiquaye, 22, is expected back in Athens for treatment after failing to make Ghana's 22-man squad.

The news comes as a relief to the Greek champions, who expected to be without both frontline forwards in Zizi Roberts – on duty with Liberia – and Oforiquaye.

The former Kalamata star now has to prove his fitness to club doctors as he recovers from yet another niggling leg injury.
