Oduro invited to Under 23 camp

Stephen Oduro, Kotoko's midfield dynamo left out of a list of 26 Black Meteors players invited to camp in preparation for a four nation tournament in South Africa has now joined his colleagues.

A statement signed by Mr Kofi Nsiah, General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) said the player's name was left out of the initial list released by the GFA due to an omission and that it was not intentional to drop him from the Meteors.

He said the technical team of the Meteors have regretted the error and are sorry about any inconveniences the omission might have caused the nimble footed Kotoko midfielder and his club.

Stephen Oduro was among four players of Kumasi Asante Kotoko who were invited to the Black Stars camp in preparation for CAN 2002 but were not released by their club.

After a November 18, 2001 deadline given by Stars coach Osam Duodu expired without the players joining their colleagues at the Winneba Sports College camp, the coach shut his doors on them, leading to their exclusion from the Stars preparations for the Mali tournament.
