Tribute to Sammy Okaitey

*Tribute in memory of the late Sammy Okaitey by Samir Captan, President of Ghana Boxing Authority*

I was shocked to hear the untimely death of Sammy Okaitey, and it is a sadness that we are still engulfed in. I have known Sammy close to thirty (30) years; he was always calm and level headed. He was very gentle and will always seek second opinion in everything he does.

He devoted greater part of his time to Sports particularly boxing. He has contributed immensely to the development and advancement of boxing in Ghana and beyond. His sudden departure has created a vacuum which will take a long time to be filled.

On behalf of the Ghana Boxing Authority I am extending my condolence to his family. Sammy has gone too soon but his contributions and ideals will forever be with us. May God Almighty give him a perpetual resting place.
