The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has fulfilled its annual financial commitment to all 20 clubs in the Gold Fields Women’s Premier League, disbursing a total of GH¢2 million to strengthen club operations and accelerate the development of women’s football.

Each participating club received GH¢100,000 on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, in fulfilment of a pledge by GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku to provide financial relief and improve the sustainability of women’s football in Ghana.

The financial intervention forms part of a broader support package designed to ease the operational burden on clubs and enhance the quality of the competition throughout the 2026/27 season.

In addition to the cash allocation, the GFA will continue to absorb referees’ and Match Commissioners’ fees, while each club is expected to receive 30 pairs of football boots to support player welfare and improve access to essential sporting equipment.

The package also includes fuel assistance from GOIL and souvenirs from Melcom, providing further support to clubs in managing their travel and logistical requirements during the season.

The comprehensive intervention underscores the GFA’s commitment to creating a stronger and more sustainable Women’s Premier League, while delivering on President Simeon-Okraku’s promise to provide practical support for clubs and players.
