Ghanaian defender Marvin Senaya has expressed his gratitude to God after recovering from a serious injury that kept him out of action for an extended period.
The right-back was a revelation in the Black Stars’ defence during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, winning the hearts of fans with his impressive performances.
However, he suffered a serious injury that forced him to miss the start of the 2026/2027 season. He recently returned to action for his club.

Reflecting on his time on the sidelines, Senaya described the injury layoff as a dark period in his career, during which he endured several challenges.
He noted that despite the difficult moments, he remained optimistic and maintained his faith in making a full recovery and continuing his career.
"It's been a unique journey. Months of struggle, patience, and self-doubt. And fate has brought me back to the pitch at Meinau, where part of my story began. A tough afternoon for everyone, but a significant step for me personally. My faith never wavered, even in the darkest moments. Only God knows how far I've come. Grateful to be back," he posted on social media.
The Black Stars defender made his long-awaited comeback as a second-half substitute in the Week 9 encounter at the Stade de la Meinau.
Senaya was introduced in the 63rd minute, replacing Congolese international Christ Makosso, but could not prevent Auxerre from suffering a 5-1 defeat.
His return comes as a boost for the Black Stars ahead of their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying double-header against Somalia.
