Ghana Football Association (GFA) President and CAF Second Vice President Kurt Okraku has met former Black Stars coaches Otto Addo and Kwesi Appiah on the sidelines of the CAF Strategy Conference in Cape Verde.

The meeting brought together three prominent figures in Ghanaian football at the gathering, which assembled football administrators, national team coaches and technical experts from across the continent to discuss the future of African football.

The conference was held in Santa Maria on Sal Island from October 7 to 9, 2026, with discussions centred on football development, sustainability and lessons from Africa’s historic campaign at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Addo and Appiah have both held the Black Stars coaching position, leading Ghana at different points as the country sought to compete at major international tournaments.

Their meeting with Okraku comes as African football leaders examine ways to strengthen national teams, improve technical development and build stronger structures ahead of the 2030 World Cup.

The conference also featured a technical review of Africa’s performance at the 2026 World Cup, where nine of the continent’s 10 representatives advanced to the knockout stage.

FIFA technical experts and coaches discussed areas for improvement, including chance creation, pressing and game management.

While details of the conversation between Okraku, Addo and Appiah were not disclosed, the encounter offered a moment of reunion among key figures in Ghanaian football.
