Heavy rain caused major flooding at Levante’s Ciutat de València stadium, with the dressing‑room tunnel among the areas affected ahead of their LaLiga clash with Athletic Bilbao on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.
Footage from the stadium showed water accumulating heavily around the tunnel leading from the dressing rooms to the pitch as torrential rain hit Valencia on the night.
The downpour also left large sections of the pitch waterlogged, making the playing surface unplayable shortly before the scheduled 9:30 pm kick-off.
Both teams had already arrived at the stadium and completed their warm-ups, but the worsening conditions forced them back inside.

LaLiga and the match officials subsequently inspected the pitch before deciding that the conditions were not suitable for the game to go ahead.
The fixture was officially postponed just minutes before kick-off, with the heavy rainfall also affecting spectators inside the stadium.
Athletic Bilbao later confirmed that the match would be rearranged, with the new date and kick-off time yet to be announced.
