Unbeaten Ghanaian boxer Theophilus Allotey is set for a major test when he takes on Argentina’s Facundo David Garcia in a WBA Super Flyweight World Title Eliminator on Saturday, September 19, 2026.

The 12-round bout will take place at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra as part of the Osagyefo Fight Night, an event held in remembrance of Ghana’s first president, Dr Kwame Nkrumah.

Allotey has been intensifying his preparations at the Wisdom Boxing Gym in Bukom as he targets another victory that could take him closer to a world title opportunity.

The 14-0 boxer enters the contest with growing confidence after defeating Namibia’s Jonas Rastos in April to win the WBA Africa Gold Super Flyweight title.

Garcia, meanwhile, has recorded six wins, two defeats and two draws in his 10 professional bouts.

Allotey says he has studied his Argentine opponent carefully and remains focused on executing his game plan when the two meet on Saturday.

For the Ghanaian, the bout represents more than just an opportunity to maintain his unbeaten record, with victory potentially putting him closer to a shot at the WBA Super Flyweight World Championship.

His coach, Dr. Ofori Asare, has also warned against underestimating Garcia, despite the Ghanaian’s impressive record.

“I've watched some of his videos. When I watch him fighting, and also since he's from Argentina, we know good boxers from Argentina, Maidana and the rest, so we are not going to underrate him,” Asare said.

“We know how important it is for Ghana because we don't have any opportunity for a world title now. So, if we are able to climb up, that means our chances for winning a world title for Ghana is real.”

Allotey has also credited Asare for playing a major role in his development, describing his coach as a father figure whose guidance and support have been instrumental in his boxing career.
