Tottenham Hotspur manager Roberto De Zerbi has announced that Ghanaian footballer Mohammed Kudus is fully fit to start matches for the Premier League side as the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers approach.
The winger had been sidelined for months after suffering a severe quad/thigh injury during a Premier League match against Sunderland in January 2026.
He was ruled out for the remainder of the season and even missed the 2026 FIFA World Cup with the Black Stars as he focused on recovery.

Ahead of Tottenham’s game against Aston Villa in the Premier League on September 20, 2026, De Zerbi confirmed that Kudus has fully recovered and is available to start matches.
De Zerbi noted that while Kudus is ready to play, midfielder James Maddison has not yet recovered enough to start games as he continues his rehabilitation.
“Kudus can start because, in terms of physical condition, he is better. For James, not yet,” he told the media.
This comes as a huge boost for the coach, who has been under fire following Tottenham’s disastrous start to the season. After four matches, the club has recorded two losses, two draws, and zero wins, sitting in 17th position on the league table with just two points.
Kudus’ fitness update is also good news for Ghanaians, as fans eagerly await his return to the Black Stars ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
