Legendary Ghanaian footballer Asamoah Gyan has revealed that flying in his own private jet is one of his unfulfilled wishes.

The former Black Stars captain said owning or flying a private jet remains a personal ambition as he continues to focus on his career and other ventures.

Following the Black Princesses’ elimination from the 2026 U-20 FIFA World Cup, the players gathered at the dining table, where they were advised by the former Black Stars captain.

The ex-Sunderland striker, in addressing the squad, noted that in life one does not always get what one wishes for. He referenced his own desire to fly a private jet, which has not yet materialized.

The Black Stars’ all-time top scorer encouraged the players to accept the outcome of the competition and move forward, challenging themselves to achieve greater things in life.

“Sometimes you don’t get what you want. Sometimes I wish I could fly private jets and everything. You also have your wishes, but not every wish comes true. So what I will tell you is, whatever has happened today, we should take it in good faith. And let’s move on in life.


"That is how you challenge yourself in life. You challenge yourself when things go wrong, not when things get better. When things go wrong, that is where you challenge yourself and ask yourself questions: What am I going to do next? We’ve all been through ups and downs,” he remarked.

Gyan urged the Black Princesses not to give up on their careers but to keep pushing and training diligently to achieve their goals.

“When it comes to my football career, I don’t know if you’ve heard about my story, but how did I handle it? It’s all about yourself, how you handle every situation. And when you trust yourself, when you believe in yourself, and you know you can do better, there are more opportunities.

"I know some of you will be asking yourselves, 'Where do we go from here? What are we going to do?' But I can assure you that nobody knows tomorrow. So just have faith in yourself. Keep on training. Keep your faith high, and I’m sure the future is bright…” he added.

The Black Princesses’ struggles continue, as they have failed to progress beyond the group stage in all their appearances at the U-20 World Cup.
