Goalkeeper Solomon Agbasi has said his final goodbye to Hearts of Oak ahead of his imminent move to South African side Stellenbosch FC.

The 25-year-old ended his stay at the Ghanaian giants after failing to agree a deal during the transfer window.

Although the club had wanted to keep him, Agbasi was on the radar of several teams including Ghanaian champions Medeama SC.

However, with offers from South African coming in, the former Dreams FC shot-stopper decided to continue his career abroad.

In a message posted on social media, Agbasi wrote: "To everyone at Accra Hearts of Oak. My time at the club has come to an end and I would like to thank everyone involved. The past year have flown by but they will stay with me forever.

"Thank you to all my teammates, Managers and Staff along the way, and of course thank you to all the lovely fans. It’s been nothing but love from the start! This journey couldn’t have been the same without you. I’ve loved every minute here and I will miss playing in the Phobia colors.

"I wish the club nothing but success for the season and the future and Maybe we will cross paths again. I truly hope to see Hearts Of Oak Up there where they truly belong and deserve to be. Phobia the best. Thanks for everything."

Agbasi made 12 appearances for the Phobians, conceding only five times and keeping nine clean sheets. A feat that earned him a place as a fourth-choice goalie at the World Cup in North America during the summer.
